The boys and I have been in Massachusetts now for three weeks, and I will admit that it has been a challenge to get my bearings here. While everything in Hawaii was slow, slow, slow, everything here seems to be quite the opposite. And, honestly, I’ve never lived in a city environment before. Up until now, my entire life has been spent near military bases. Here, everyone hurries, and this is especially true when it comes to how folks drive. Thank goodness for the GPS! We have ventured three times into the city. I am slowly getting things organized with my photos and the blog and will be trying my best to catch up on things that I’ve neglected to post the past few months. Moving is hard work! I also anticipate not having too many clients through the course of the next year, so I will focus on continuing to learn, taking photos of the area, and capturing the boys as they grow.
This is a giant milk bottle/restaurant outside of the Boston Children’s Museum. It’s a fun area with lots of cool things for the kids to look at outside and play with inside. I had fun playing around on the processing for this shot. We will, no doubt, be spending a lot of time at the museum this year.

After living two and a half years in Hawaii, I am doing my best to find the beauty of this area. I find that I am drawn to the lines of buildings. This shot was taken outside of the Children’s Museum as well. I’m fascinated by all of the squares and rectangles. Processing it in black and white really made them stand out.

While this isn’t the greatest shot in terms of focus, I love the motion and the fact that he is jumping over the word home. Considering we have just made a huge transition from paradise to the city (I bet you are hearing a little Guns and Roses in your head right now–Take me down to Paradise City–Oh won’t you please take me home!), I love how he has on a Hawaii shirt in this new environment. I’ve always said that home is where we are together. So, with that in mind, we will settle in and find our rhythm here and enjoy all the area has to offer.
