Kaneohe Twilight
For the class I’m taking, we were tasked with taking pictures at twilight and night. A friend in the class and I went down to the pier on the base to get our shots because it’s close and absolutely beautiful. I love these mountains and especially love watching the sun set over them every day.

Sweet Family
One of my friends was nice enough to pose for some portraits, so I could practice for one of the classes I’m taking. For the assignment we were to capture five different types of lighting. The instructor suggested we shoot at either 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. in order to be able to do all five types of lighting at once. In all honesty, I prefer to shoot around 4 p.m. because I think the light is less harsh. But, being a good student I did as assigned. I was able to get a few pictures of her lightening fast two year old. Running after this guy in wet, sinking sand was a workout! Here are a few of my favorites from the day.

K-Bay Fireworks
I was sitting in the house tonight and kept hearing this subtle boom boom boom. After a few minutes, it dawned on me that it was the Bayfest fireworks! I quickly grabbed my camera, went out into the back yard, and used the fence as a tripod to help me stabilize the camera. Fireworks photos are such fun because you never know what you are going to get. Tonight I got a pineapple, a red dawn, and a perfect burst!

Best of the Blues-Day 2
It was another gorgeous day for an air show! Today, we were lucky enough to be able to go to a friend’s house and avoid the Saturday crowd. They live right above the flight line, so we were able to have an amazing view for a second day in a row. I must say, it never gets old!
