The Punk Rock Mom Challenge “Story Time”

I’m new to the Punk Rock Mom challenge, but I knew that this week’s subject would be a relatively easy one with my two boys.  Earlier this week, they were playing together quite well.  I came in their playroom to find them dressed in flight suits and equipped with their military backpacks and their Daddy Dolls.  It seems they were packed and ready to go on a trip to visit Daddy.  Let’s just say that unless they have a military connection I’m unaware of, their journey would be a VERY long one!  Oh-and they were going to take the dog with them.  This picture makes me both happy and sad at the same time.  I’m happy that they are learning to play together so well and that they are processing the separation from their daddy through play.  However, it makes me sad to know that even in their play and their laughter, they are missing their daddy.  Thank goodness they have each other and their Daddy Dolls.  And, of course, the dog too!

So sweet and sad at the same time. :( Deployments are not easy on the little ones or the moms.
